starts with dana martin, who is in prison for rape and murder in new mexico. the 45-year-old has an image of bieber tattooed on his leg. after several letters to the pop star went unanswered, affidavits say martin krecruiting another inmate, mark staky, to kill bieber after his release. >> this wasn't just one person acting alone or two people plotting together. this was a group that was really orchestrated by someone who was already in prison. so it's fascinating to me. >> reporter: in october, they first went to vermont where they planned to kill two unnamed victims. but that never happened because staky was arrested by border patrol agents on outstanding warrants. the other continued to new york where he planned to kill bieber and his bodyguard in late november. the affidavit says that during phone calls between the two, authorities heard references to murder plots. when ruane was arrested in new york, a pair of pruning shears, which were to be used to mutilate bieber, was found in his car. bieber's camp is being relatively tight lipped about all this. the only thing his rep told us is

as well. all of it revealed by a local tv station in new mexico, krqe-tv, the station reporting that a convicted killer doing time in prison recruited two men from new mexico to carry out the plot on his behalf. mark stack key was one of those hit men. he apparently tipped off the police himself who arrested him and his accomplice. there's stackye. his accomplice, tanner rain. rain had gardening sheers on his person, reportedly for the castration part of this plot. the plan was to kill him at madison square garden here in new york city. they were to strangle him using bow ties and dismember him. both men are in custody, as is dana martin who was serving a life sentence for the 2000 rape and murder of a young girl. martin is told to be obsessed to the point of having bieber's face tattooed on his leg. jon: anything about motive? i mean, just what was this all about? >> reporter: it seems that this guy who came up with the plot is obsessed with justin bieber. i mentioned the tattoo. he also has some weird thing with bow ties where he had used bow ties to kill victims in past crime

next year, new tax in new york city will carry a made in mexico label. mexico is the top exporter of flat screen tvs. in fact, mexico exports more manufactured products than all the other countries in latin america combined. three main factors are in play. for one, geography. sharing a border with the united states means heavy products are cheaper to transport across than if they were manufactured in asia. the second factor is nafta, mexican products are subject to lower duties than those from other countries. in fact, the economist points out that mexico has trade deals with 44 countries, the most of any nation in the world. the third factor is wages. as other manufacturing hubs become more expensive, mexico has become more competitive. according to hsbc in 2000 mexican workers earned nearly five times the salary of their chinese peers. but by 2011, mexican workers were only about a third more expensive than chinese workers. when you project all these advantages into the next few years, mexico's economic future looks robust. the national intelligence council released an important
